Yep, it's summer, too summer. The temps don't vary a whole lot down here with the sea breeze action. Low to mid 90's from MAy until September, just the way it is.

Speaking of hot - Ais' Break

Today: Sunny. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 90s. West winds around 5 mph. Heat index readings 105 to 107.

Tonight: Partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 70s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Highest heat index readings around 105 in the evening.
Being a few miles from the coast (maybe 2 to 2 1/2) we get a decent seabreeze in the PM. If you are sitting in the shade it is much cooler.

I walked out in the sun to the 10' round, 24 inch deep grkid pool to put on the cover, and by the time I was done about a minute later, was starting to sweat!

Good thing this pool is taller. So far, the 'coons cannot get in, so they are spending their time digging in my pots and ruining my plants to get back at me.

Yes LC, I got a "TIMED OUT" message earlier. Hope it was just the Dewey tweaking things.

I was glad to see that HuriCat's Back-Up site was still there.

    Good morning All!!

    Happy monday... ( (sigh)

It's overcast and gloomy out this morning, which is cool, well, not cool as in totally cool! But, coolER. Thunder bumpers and a high of 85 which is more like it.

The 90 degree weather has severely impacted my beer supply. I don't know why but when the temps are up the supply goes down.

    I'm looking into it.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the self-imposed honey-do list, has been knocked down a few pegs with a few external tasks added such as going to my bros and digging up a broken underground water line with a back hoe.

The price of auto paint supplies has gone way up since the 80's. I spent about $200 on supplies, not counting the paint guns and sandpaper. That was acrylic enamel! It laid down pretty good and I had Juan big run, but I put hardener in it so I should be able to buff it out. I would have spent about $100 more to do the whole car.

I hope every Juan has a good day and enjoys mid summer!

    I'm out!
    I'm oat, eh? (Canadian)

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! Ouch, that's hot! Generally we all meet at about 7 pm to let the girls play, after the worst of the heat is over. Last couple of days it was still way hot. We added a water play table and they love it.

Breakfast’s on the Sideboard: Cheesy bacon and egg hash, sausage and egg breakfast enchiladas, strawberry cheesecake French toast casserole with syrup on the side, Cheesy Tator Tot breakfast ring topped with Canadian bacon, omelets stuffed with steak tips, diced potatoes, bell peppers, onions and mushrooms, fresh fruit, tea or coffee. Enjoy

    It's been hot.

    Too hot.

Yesterday Mobile had a record high. We weren't far from Juan. Fortunately some afternoon thunderboomers cooled things down slightly later in the day even though we didn't get any rain. It's been a hotter than normal summer so far. Really sucks.

Things are supposed to be changing for the better today and the the next few days. If not I'll be heading for CO.

Oh No you didn't! Bad LF, very naughty - I'm hunting around for the elusive ban button. I never can find that thing when I need it, but Juan of these days I'm going to find it and then there's going to be heck to pay around here

The Tamponians only have 384 hrs. to prep. for Ghostie DOOM.....

Good evening. I had some hmmm here. The life and death of a pulse thunderstorm that blew up overhead. Little sucker packed a punch with C2G strokes, gusty winds knocking some light debris off the trees, and 1.87" in the gauge.

    Oh! Good morning All!

Just when I thought the weather was quiet too quiet... Got a nice little thundershower yesterday afternoon. Heavy rain for about 45 min. Thing wasn't moving, just popped up and sat there. Sure cooled things off for the evening, and put just over an inch of fresh water in the S.P.R.G. The grass loved it, and as a result is much taller this morning.

(sigh) I'll be cutting the grass again L8R this afternoon, then cooling off in the S.P.R.G. with an energetic and overly concerned GSD.

Think I'll go have a liquid lunch before tackling the yard work. That should help things go better. Have a good day all, BBL unless I'm not.

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! A beautiful day yesterday, though a very hot and sizzling one for a parade. I was in the VFW in a/c, however with the doors open to allow the troops easy in and out, the a/c didn't work at all. Serving hamburgers are record speed built up a nice 'glisten', actually a dripping 'glisten' on all us servers. The guys serving were just simply pouring sweat. But it was a great time and the soldiers were all thanking us as we were thanking them. Vernon Parish shows Fort Polk soldiers their patriot pride

Sears physical stores are having some awesome sales. Almost everything is at least 40% off. Heading up to by an elliptical bike this morning. It's on sale for $350.00. DIL is getting a large elliptical for 500. Tools were at 25% off last time I was up there, not sure what they're at now.

Also have to pick up some last minute stuff for my final trip. Heading out Wednesday morning for McLeen, VA outside DC for the National Service Dog Conference. We're sightseeing on the way up and on the way back. The friend I'm going with turns 62 in October and has never in her life gone on a real vacation, gone sightseeing anywhere or played tourist. I may create a monster...

Breakfast’s on the sideboard: beignets, apple pie pancakes, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs with pieces of bacon and shrimp, poached eggs with salmon, grillades and grits, Cajun fried ride with crawfish, green onion sausage, crème brulee pain perdu, andouille sausage Cajun scramble, fresh fruit, tea or coffee, flavored creamers or a glass of Blackberry-Bourbon Iced Tea. Enjoy!

    Good Morning Bunkerites!

I was cruising around in my step father's firebird as a teenager. Surprised I didn't kill myself in that thing.

All's quiet in the weather department this morning, can't even scare up any rain for Triple K....

    Another insomniac treat for me.
America's offerings were often to be found in my 8 track selection stored in the console of my 1970 Challenger*
I often played them during complexion tasting sessions with candidates for the girlfriend position that was usually open back then.
The mood was good, but perhaps not as good as David Gate's offerings. But Eagles, Chicago, Beach Boys, Association and many more could be used. But I liked the harmonies of America. If I had a dime for every time I sang the harmony to that song during a gig or someone else's gig, I wouldn't be rich, but I would have a lot of dimes!
Yeah, I can't sleep. That happens when I am around toluene and lacquer thinner and other car painting liquids, like I was today or too much caffeine after 5 PM, which I did not have, but who cares, right?

*1970 Dodge Challenger, my second car..

Mine had big tires and slotted chrome rims though..
