I guess everyone knows , I am a sports nut , There is a great weekend of sport around , well there are my favourite sports anyway !

The Masters Augusta
With Tiger's withdraw from the tournament , it leaves a fairly open field ,Over on this side of the Pond the English bookies have Adam Scott as favourite and the Irish, of course have Rory Mcilroy ... I don't know who is the favourite in the US but Imagine Phil Mickelson will be near top of the list .

I love this tournament ,the beautiful golf course the tradition of the green Jacket

I think this is Augusta Local radar

If anyone knows the local weather /news sites please let me know !

NASCAR

Just a bit up the Road from Augusta is the Darlington Raceway NASCAR meeting .

Current standings

Local Radar as far as I am aware

MOTOGP

Over in Austin TX , the Moto GP are racing . Pretty much everyone knows who my favourite is .... But there is a kid now called Marc Marquez who looks to be the new king of the formula one of bikes , only 20 and won his first championship already looks unbeatable .

Austin Radar

On top of all this sport , My soccer team is in the semi final of the FA cup . and the Champions league Quarter finals are on tonight and tomorrow .. Lots of fun this week for a sports couch potato

Anyway I hope this one goes well

As far as the Masters go, I'd say the field was pretty much wide open prior to Tiger withdrawing.

He was the favourite at half the price of Scott , McIlroy or Mickelson before he pulled out ... I am thinking about Dustin Johnson or Jason Day , unless neither are destined to win a major they have a great chance now !

Nice new blog Lib! TYVM! Junior needs to get back to form at Darlington. My Masters pick is Matt Kuchar. Good luck to Valentino Rossi !
  8. libgoon's Avatar
Thanks FMG ! Yeah I heard Junior had a bad un yesterday , But its early in the season , I doubt Jeff Gordon will be leading by the Chase time ... Matt Kuchar is overdue a major , like Johnston and Mahan .

Vale has no chance this year , I don't think anyone but Marc Marquez does

Speaking of sports, this has absolutely nothing to do with sports, but surprised me anyway.

When Tiger is in the zone no one can beat him. The problem is he can't keep in the zone more than a round or two these days. Too many hot white chicks in the audience. He loses his focus.

Good morning and afternoon, everyone. It's 44 degrees, our temps are going in the wrong direction.

I've never understood watching Golf. Of course, I have a hard time watching anything, even football, without doing something else at the same time. Going to the movies is torture for me, my kids rated movies by how many times I said "I'm loving the movie, but how much longer?". I just can't sit still watching the tv or screen. About the only time you'll see me sitting still (as in doing only one thing) is when I'm reading. The world could explode around me and I wouldn't know it. And even then there's something on me moving, a foot, changing how I sit, etc.. (Yes, I'm hyperactive, not attention deficit thank God.)

Only six more days of teaching after today before Spring Break. I don't count today, it's here already. Gotta look for the positive!

Breakfast's on the sideboard: creamed chipped beef over biscuits, Cajun Breakfast Casserole, Cinnamon Pecan Rolls, Pumpkin Pie Coffee Cake with Pecan Crumble, Spinach & Dubliner Cheese Egg Cups, cinnamon oatmeal with bruleed Bananas, Red-Pepper omelet, Sausage Strata, cheese Danishes, yogurt, fresh fruit and orange, apple or pineapple juice. Peppermint White Hot Chocolate, regular and decaf coffee with flavored creamers to the side. Enjoy!

I'm afraid I'm not much of a sports fan. I have never liked being a spectator. but I will watch a NASCAR race or a football game or a swimsuit edition shoot. My favorite sport is "wood" as a participant, not spectator.
I know enough about the players to know who someone is and what they play, 80% of the time.

I was not raised by sports fan. We watched Star Trek. But when not watching TV I was IN some sports like football and basket ball and baseball and tonsil hockey.

When I was a kid, I thought a "Super Bowl party" was when people decided to get together and the ladies all brought huge bowls of snacks while the guys all drank beer and watched something on TV and used a lot of profanity and made fun of each other. I attributed their singular conduct to the drinking of a lot of beer. But later on in life, when I found out the Super bowl meant something else, I noticed the guys are all waiting for a "wardrobe malfunction." IT really didn't matter whose as long as it was a female. I also learned that there are a persons "favorite team" and a "favorite WINNING team."
If you're from Buffalo, chances are your favorite team is the Bills. They have come close to going to the Super bowl but.....anyway, as is the "norm," a Buffalo football fan will lower his Bills flag and fly the colors of his or her next choice. I see this as disloyalty, but the Bill's players themselves have favorites. Then, everyone drops their favorite (if it isn't one of the 2 in the SB) in favor of one of the contestant teams in the SB. Then, the fickle spectator will offer all kinds of advice and commentary when the game is afoot trying to out-arm chair coach the other spectators. The more beer they drink, the louder the coaching and the more impractical, until it starts sounding like the real thing.
So I don't watch much sports or follow it. If I'm at a sports bar, I will ask for women's football (the Lingerie league) or girls softball (just saying that sounds like fun). Then, I don't care who wins or loses nor can I tell which is which. If the beer is cold and the wings are good and the help is attentive, I'm good. But don't stick me in a room with some Dorito eating, keystone light drinking, sweaty armpit smellin' dudes watching a game on TV. Please.

    That is all.

You may return to your program already in regression.

Hi Lib. Thanks for the new blog.

Good morning and afternoon, everyone! A beautiful rain free Spring day ahead! Not that I'll be in it, but I will enjoy it through my window. Just a week and a half and I'll be able to be outside and really enjoy it.

Breakfast's on the sideboard: creamed chipped beef or sausage gravy over biscuits, Egg, Cheese and chorizo Quesadillas, creamy oatmeal with blueberries, omelets with cheese and mushrooms, honey ham and bacon, cheesy grits and shrimp, cheese Danishes, yogurt, fresh fruit and orange, apple or pineapple juice. So this where Aislinn is. I was going to take the Q-dillas, but I already had raisin bran.

A good friend's wife grew up and went to school with Jeff Gordon, I guess they all know each other. My friend is always getting car parts and tires and stuff from him that he puts in his "Man Cave." I met him once. So he's a friend of a friend (the whole concept of the successful social internet PITA, Facebook) which is the closest I have been to a race car driver other than Jim Hurtubise who was a friend of my brothers.
So that's why I follow his exploits a little more closely than others.

Leader Board - 2014 Masters Tournament

Can understand that , when you kind of know or met someone you develop a partial interest . I started to follow golf because I drank and eat at Darren Clarke hotel .... also when as student served him in the supermarket I worked in .... I also walked home drunk across Royal Portrush Golf Course ... Both McDowell and Clarke local course ...

How did I miss this blog? Excellent idea Lib. I love The Masters...starting with that Par3 contest where nobody cares much about the contest...but it's so unique. Palmer-Nicklaus-Player playing together. Their great grandkids and the other players kids as young as 2 who get to play caddy for daddy for a few hours on the grandest stage.....are so cute in those starched white official caddy clothes that Augusta provides. It's beautiful to watch. I'd love to do a Masters-Darlington daily double one day.
    .
Betting-wise....I like Day but it's not his week. I'd have thrown a dollar on Spieth.

Cos thank you for your kind words , they mean allot , More than you know !

I am pretty happy with the way my 80/1 shot is doing ... could not believe the price Luis was ...as it was a recent runner up , youthful and recent major winner .
