Good Morning Y'all,

I have started working for a company called DR Medical Rides and with season being on, I have been thinking about wwhat supplies I should carry in the Car in case I get caught away from civilization when hell breaks loose.

I would like everyone's idea on what I might put in a Car Kit.

I know already to put water in milk jugs and duck tape on my windows.

The Early List:

1) First Aid Kits 2 in the cab and 1 in the trunk
2) Life Hammer. includes a glass break, seat belt cutter and air bag puncture.
3) Water
4)Fishing Pole
5)Can of Worms...na......... lures and plastics
6)Canned Food and snacks
7)Water
8)Hand Saw
9)Waders
10)Beer and Ice...maybe the Ice for me
11)CHEETOS
12)Charged Cell Phone

Reported! Be sure to store an axe in your glove compartment. If it doesn't fit, take the axe and beat the heck out of it until there's room.

    You've got that right.

Also store a chainsaw under the front passenger seat for those times downed trees may be covering the roadway.

A boat needs plenty of beer and ice.

    How was the fishing?.....catch much?

Limited out on snapper. Caught one blackfin tuna. The water temps out there were about 4 degrees cooler than they normally are this time of year. There were alot of nice weed lines which would normally have held dolphin fish but there was nothing there.

    I blame global warming.

I remember reading that waders were a good idea in case you get caught in 6 inches of water.

You only need to carry one thing. In a real emergency, if properly armed you can easily obtain anything else you might need. Oh, and also prevent others from taking from you what they think they might need.

HOWEVER! If you wish to maintain some civility, or it isn't a Real 'end-of-the-world' type Emergency, then I'd recommend the following:

Food: dry cereal, crackers, canned soup, meats, tuna, chicken, canned beans, canned peaches or mixed fruit, can opener, fork, spoon, steak knife, plastic bowls, Water, canned fruit juices, paper/plastic cups. Hard candies, caramel squares (energy), cans of beer, and soda. (can use any of the above for trade as well.) oh and... Toilet PAPER!!

Medical: bar soap, hand sanitizer, towels napkins, First aid kit, Snake bit kit, Tylenol, aspirin, Tums, (See also Alcohol) Tampons (somebody may need to borrow one or two (and they are better to have than need.) SPare set of clothes, socks, underwear, T-shirts etc... . oh and... Toilet PAPER!!

Tools:Road flares, Fire starters, Camp Ax, pocket knife, Basic hand toolkit, screwdriver pliers etc... DUCT TAPE!!, Electrical tape, gas can, Plastic bags, Rope, Tarp, $200 in small bills. oh and... Toilet PAPER!!

Alcohol: Rum, Bourbon, Vodka, etc... At least 90 proof or higher. Helps light wet fires, disinfects cuts, and you can drink it to help pass the time. oh and... Toilet PAPER!!

Some means of defense: Wild dogs, wild life, and wild welfare bums can all become violent if under stress form a storm. Whatever you are comfortable with: ie Tazer, mace, knife, Bear-spray, stun-gun, shotgun, BMG .50 cal. Stinger manpad. oh and... Toilet PAPER!!

Niceties: hard candy, sodas, small 4-pack of individual red wine, a comb for your hair, (or her hair) can all help lend some civility to any situation. The more prepared, the less stress, the better your chances of coming out just fine. Stop worrying about not having toilet paper and concentrate on that water moccasin slithering its way over to you. oh and... Toilet PAPER!!
