Everyone knows that April is the heart of severe weather season and that being out in such weather can be severely foolish.

The SPC maps promise to be colorful this month….

National radar and Satellite as well…..

Just remember one thing before you head out the door...

Sony makes Kodi a bit difficult most times. That link I posted is a pay service for $2/month for soccer. May be worth a peek.

Y You all missed the big shrimp boil yesterday! You are all welcome to join in the shimp boil leftover feast later today as a 2nd chance! Turned out great. I never thought all that stuff, along with 14 lbs of shrimp and 10 lbs of sausage, would fit in a 60 qt pot.

    Actual photo

I have a VPN thanks ... But somehow the UK providers are getting wise to Kodi addons and have a block stream thing Court injunction out now .... making it very difficult to get soccer for the last two weeks .

I have had no Difficulties US programs watching on my Tablet that would not be over here for many more weeks

    BreakFast!

I'll have some eggs and hash browns and coffee - TYVM and hunker down!
Ah yes, the good old "Joisey" or the USS (BB62) Iowa class battleship, New Jersey! they don't make 'em like that any more. She served in WWII and was in the Pacific shelling targets on Guam and Okinawa and served till 1991, was in the Med and Vietnam. That's almost 50 years and she still is being used now, but as a museum in Jersey. I think she could stand a little rough and damp weather...

I got distracted reading about the Pacific sea battles and all the things that happened . Huge ships shooting shells that weighed a ton over 10 miles.. The navy seaman under fire and patching holes and still returning fire until their ship was shot out from under them. That was the last naval battle in WWII between Admiral Halsey and the last Japanese fleet fought around the Philippines, especially the battle in the Gulf of Leyte. Wow!

So keep an eye out for bad wx. I am goofing off today!

Bunker Buster is perfect, Bart! Yes, torcons are horrible for here this afternoon/evening. Of course we're currently under a flash flood watch and tornado watch. I came home yesterday from the Bass Fishing Tournament to find my neighbors had a shrimp/crab legs/crawfish boil and sent me a ton of food to eat. I ate the crab legs and Zander peeled the crawfish so today we're having shrimp and crawfish étouffée for dinner today.

Try this out. Great series on said subject matter. WWII in 3D was a great show also, but this one is 13 episodes.

We are MSGAL, daughter packing up to move from her house in the back to mine. Waiting to here from friend in Florien that had one, no answer to phone. Son is sheltering currently in Walmart as winds and rain and color of sky wasn't good in his light truck. He was on the way home from work.

Fasten your seat belt, it's going to be a bumpy night. Hope everyone gets through OK.

We had a brief thunderstorm, another sign that summer is coming.

I saw a cloud, that's it so far.

I hope all the folks in LA have brushed up on their SS/BS protocols, those storms are wicked.

Bunker Station SELA checking in. So far only light showers.

But there are metric but_-loads of moisture heading North. Cloud cover is dark low and thick, moving up from the gulf fast.

We are mostly hunkered down for the evening. Hopefully most of this will pass North of us. We'll be checking in periodically. Stay tuned for further updates.

Say... Who is going to stay on this evening? ...even just checking in now and then??
  22. hurricat's Avatar
    I'll probably look in occasionally.

Hopefully it'll stay out of your area Barkeep, at least the wurst of it. I hope Aislinn is doing okay, still some really bad cells in that area....

  24. McBart ender's Avatar
Yes Cone, It's running a train (of storms) all over her area. The Wurst usually stays North of us.

...but NOLA did have its first ever F-3 tornado recently. ...and they're trying to blame that on the hotter gulf waters. This is gonna be Juan rough season.
  25. InTheCone's Avatar
That 'Nader in NOLA was quite the shocker, and this season hasn't even peaked yet - long way to go. As soon as we get severe season wrapped up we'll be on to The Season™, busy, busy, busy!
  26. McBart ender's Avatar
Yup. Good thing we still have the Bunker to play in.

    ....at least for now.

Hi ALL-- and I do mean ALL!

Hasn't ever been a time we traveled to Gatlinburg for Easter (so either March or April) that we did not see the results of a twister in either Ga. or S. Carolina. It's getting to be that time of year---cold meets hot. My T's & P's for those in the paths.

Been in the yard almost all day. Got the garden going, did lots of clean-up and sprayed some more weeds AGAIN! Damn artillery fern won't die. Heard the rumbling of thunder to my west, but only ended up getting a few drops--literally. Didn't even get my hair all wet-just worked thru it.

AND I got the solar tiki torches out. Lowe's is clearing them out, so I got 3 boxes. I put out 3 at a time. They are cheap and flimsy, but they get the job done.

West Central Louisiana is considering flooding straight into the Gulf. It's just hanging over us, five inches of rain at my house, another friend has had seven and a half. Internet just came back on and tv as well. Been playing cards with the kids. Nonstop thunder and lightening for hours now.
