May: Time for a change?

May usually brings a transition from severe season to summer and The Season™ . Severe season can’t end soon enough this year. Hopefully the SPC map will start to calm down.

I would like to see a change to more rain for Florida and get some of it out of the Mid West.

CPC is thinking it's going to be extra warm for the next few months, it's summer so no real change there.

Whatever happens, we’re all on this flight together and let’s just hope she stays in the air for another month!

    Beat me to it

These virtual breakfasts have been superb! Today's looks super scrumptious - I'll have some thick slices of smoked ham, crispy Golden Home Fries, cheddar biscuits and gravy, bourbon-glazed pork chops and fried eggs and coffee - TYVM Aislinn and have a safe trip!

Hey Cone! Hoping to dodge the rain going up there and back, but we'll see. Glad you're enjoying the breakfasts.

Passes large plate of thick slices of smoked ham, crispy Golden Home Fries, cheddar biscuits and gravy, bourbon-glazed pork chops and fried eggs and a pot of coffee

Morning all, 50's and cloudy here. Supposed to get more rain, feeling kinda deluged with the wet stuff lately.

Out of 60ish cuts at the local hospital, I was one of them. Depending on who you talk to, the hospital us either in serious financial trouble or gearing up with talks on contracts with the nursing union. Either way, departments that don't have direct patient contact are losing positions.

Ever feel snakebitten? The last 3 years kinda feel that way.

I'll check up later, hopefully everyone is doing well!

    Howdy Yoop!

So sorry to hear that your position has been cut, hopefully something else will come along soon. The medical establishment has the pukiest of pukes

Send the down here, dry on dry ATM.

Yoop, so sorry to hear the news. At least you have a variety of talents to list on your resume. Something will turn up.

As a former Shelbyville Jail Cellmate, I can say that I feel your pain and the lack of income that comes with it.
All I can say is that judging by some of the bills I have received and the amount paid by insurance companies, Hospitals rake in dead loads of money. But just like every other business where some Juan at the top (or Juans..plural) is getting much more of the pie than whole departments, if that flow ebbs, they will be the last to accept less in their paycheck, they may even give themselves a raise at the expense of a few jobs. Because the place doesn't collapse immediately, they reason that the cuts didn't hurt and that their paycheck is, once again, secure.
I feel for you man. But, not all hospitals are "downsizing." With your skills, fine attitude and good looks, you will be an asset wherever you go. Who knows? You may even do better somewhere else.
Or you can win the lottery.

I wouldn't count on the latter.

If I could help you I would, but I stay away from hospitals, dogs that bite, women who wear designer labels, the bad part of town and bars with no women.
Now I also have to stay away from sugar and things that raise my cholesterol level and blood pressure.

If this keeps up I'll be a hermit in stasis.

But I still have my indefatigable good form and sense of humor.
Keep a stiff upper lip, buddy! We're all rooting for you.

If we're lucky the weak low being forecats to develop in the GOM will bring some moistcha' to Fl.

If this was August all bets would be off!

MJO and the blow off moisture from the system in the EPac may show us some interest later this week. Water temps (TCHP) are still below 26C over much of the Gulf, but that seed thing yaknow

    Good Morning Bunkerites!

Yeah, the northern GOM SST's are still a bit chilly to support any mischief....

QPF says NOLA may get a good flushing(always needed) and FL may get some decent rain - we shall see....

No real crossover in that area, but it should send it's moistcha' across...

    Morning Dr. Mark!

I kind of like it, nice and juicy down in the peachy zone. I just hope it heads this way.

Not too bad here in CO. We have been getting sneaky rain squalls the last few days and no open window is safe to be left alone!
I'm still not used to the 6K' altitude. I need an oxygen tank.
All in all though, this place ain't all that bad.
And since when did 85 octane become the new "regular?"
I guess since engines are turning out more power without raising the combustion chamber size and keeping them smaller, they can burn the quicker burning fuel better and without pre ignition ping (or pong if it's a Kia or Hyundai). But my Cadillac (the Cadillac of all cars) doesn't like it. But, I'm selling it. I kind of feel bad about selling it with a belly full of cheap under octane gas, but the new owner will likely feel the revenge. A man needn't concern himself with the feelings of mechanical devices, while, on the other hand, a man should be concerned about the feelings of the opposite sex, especially if she is holding a shootin' iron, an iron skillet, an iron or an iron clad pre-nuptial agreement, or if she is holding anything else you care about. It's good policy to give credence and rapt attention to the afore mentioned female's emotionality.
You can trust me or experiment on your own. Dr Mark has successfully completed his theoretical and experimental stages. How do I know?

He still has his scalp AND...he can go fishing at will.

There is my fuel for preponderance today.

GOM mischief? GOM has been quiet for a long time, could this be "The Season"?
