May: Time for a change?

May usually brings a transition from severe season to summer and The Season™ . Severe season can’t end soon enough this year. Hopefully the SPC map will start to calm down.

I would like to see a change to more rain for Florida and get some of it out of the Mid West.

CPC is thinking it's going to be extra warm for the next few months, it's summer so no real change there.

Whatever happens, we’re all on this flight together and let’s just hope she stays in the air for another month!

I was struggling with the same issue. The angel won THIS time.
I was doing well and pleased with how I had preserved LF's innocence and then she said: "It was getting quiet around here, too quiet, so I thought I'd throw that out there and stir things up. Somebody had to do it."
I am left with conflicting feelings now...

But LF wanted to stir things up and all I have to say is:

    Mission accomplished!

Morning all. My dang internet is out again. They are clearing right of ways, andust of hit something they should not have. That's what happens living in the Boonies.
All those pics of Bratworses making me want some German food.

    Hungry or thirsty.

I hope you get to your daughters Doctor ceremony Doctor.
Drive with the utmost panache and/or with reckless abandon or however you feel like driving.
I hope you get where you are going and back without severe physical or property damage and traffic citations.

Mark, tell her a HUGE congratulations from me!! That's awesome! Be careful on your drive.

I will throw caution to the wind and disregard all STAY SAFE/BE SAFE protocols. Kind of like when I drive from Aspen to Denver doing 80 mph the whole way on I-70 during a blizzard. I just imagine that I'm in a snow machine instead of a car. That probably sounds kind of weird to Juan not exempt from all STAY SAFE/BE SAFE protocols, but it works for me.

Hey all, looking like it is going to be nasty out there today for some. Initiate applicable protocols!

Congrat's to your daughter too Mark. That is a great accomplishment !

For those of you in the market for a car, the time is approaching to get some really good deals..... I think I mentioned that this was coming a few months ago, but don't remember. My PC may have erased my knowledge without my knowledge again

If you can see it, it is a tornado in Pahokee (way west of Cone, by Lake O) filmed yesterday, 21 hrs. ago.

Good afternoon/evening. I saw the video LF. Thanks for sharing. The first few seconds cracked me up with the 100mph talk. Probably the same winds as the tornado!

the first 10 seconds was the tornado, even then, it was raw unedited video with wind noise and the radio blasting. I have been through there many times when I lived in Cape Coma. It probably didn't do much harm.
In Missouri today and the general area of Missouri, lots of flooding. LA is getting pounded. It's coming to a Tennessee near you! or me.
Live report if I'm not dead.

    Afternoon/Evening all!

NWS agreed that it was a 'Nader out in the middle of nowhere. Probably some unhappy gators and snakes.

I hope you got the GoPro from DJ, Triple K. We need some video!

Speaking of rain, I hope Barkeep had a heavy duty umbrella for his drink....
  13. Ossqss's Avatar
That Pahokee nader has a bit of size. Maybe 1 or better. That will still do some damage. Hopefully only to the invasive species there!

So, I got the new laptop monitor today and did the full install, and NOTHING worked.......

So, I went one step further evaluating the other end of that cable that connects it and, poof, I found the ribbon cable and socket on the motherboard was damaged at the pins that power the LED's (smoked/cooked).

I was very close to making a chapter 2 video like this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWgV4OghMKM

Lesson learned, don't order parts until you fully eliminate the possible problems! I think option #2 may have expedited my evaluative skills during multi-tasking hockey and PC repairs. Doh!!!!!

So, always remember to register your PC devices with the manufacturer and be prepared to go through lengthy scripts, unless you can head them off at the pass with doing it already. Fortunately, a nice box is on its way to send this thing off to PC land for replacement. They don't know that part yet, but the graphcs interface is onboard the mother board. I don't think they will repair the board and just push out the HD in another shell. No matter, I did the infamous "Factory Reset" after mirroring the drive anyhow.

Ok, rant off. Sorry to do that to you all.

Ok, hockey time approaches. Time for tailgating! L8R's >>>>>>

12:35 AM and sitting on the dark. Got the phone and Internet back earlier, and now the lecky went out 20 min. ago.

Getting mostly rain with some minor wind gusts. A little thunder also. See y'all in the morning.

    Hey I posted before Cone.

    Good Morning Bunkerites!

I don't know if that's staying up late or getting up early, but it certainly beats me. I'm on late this morning, internet is being wonky.

More rain in all the wrong places....

Classic GLC moving in. If this were snow, we'd be getting 30" by tomorrow morning.

    Good morning all..
  19. kaiden's Avatar
Good Morning Cone, and Blakals. It is 63, cloudy, and windy. The rain is just ending, what I can see it looks like we had about 3.5" of rain. Our power was out for close to 2 hours. Other then a lot of rain, not a lot of lightning, and a few minor wind gusts, this line of doom was not much doom. But we were prepared for the wurst.

    Morning Blakels & Kai!

Looks like both of you had, or are having, drencheroos of unprecedented proportions - or not.

    Ais' BreakFastCast is looking deeelightful!

Today: Mostly sunny. Highs in the upper 60s. Northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Lows in the lower 50s. West winds 5 to 10 mph.

So far, my part of TN has gotten missed. It's like ASCAT only with rain.
    Good morning every Juan!

    Where's Bart?

Lovely, breezy day here, today, and not too warm.

And look what I found today:

If you can see it--it is PEACHES on my tree. I had about given up ever getting it to produce this far south!

What??? You grew a peach in SEFL???? Shocking

Speaking of fainting, there's rain on the radar....
  25. Landfall2004's Avatar
Cone, you chopped my house out of your radar!!!!

Yes, it is a special warmer-weather (or should I say less hours of cold) peach. I expect the flesh to be white. I will wait for the 2 I picked to soften up a bit before we eat them.

Hey Cos, you need to give us the scoop on the ponies. Who looks good for the Kentucky Derby this year?
  27. Landfall2004's Avatar
    Here's the scoop:

One-eyed underdog Patch is the 'feel-good story' of the Kentucky Derby

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...rby/100847482/

PS--did ya get that whimpy squall line, too? It did have a few nice boomers with it and it put the power out during Big Bang Theory--just so it doesn't happen again next week during the season finale.

Just for the record, I got Rain Don. a bunch of little showers and Juan Gully Washer.
No peaches though. We don't need this rain.

We had a couple loud cracks of thunder (enough to make the dog a bit nervous) and a brief drencheroo. I usually stream Big Bang so I didn't realize the season finale was next week. I'll have to make sure I get caught up.

Interesting about that horse. It's amazing how well animals can adapt to major injuries and go on like nothing happened.

It's a wide-open race and you'd have to be a fool to try to pick a winner here. Still, I think Gunnevera will win. Irsh War Cry, Hence, Gormley, and Always Dreaming are possible. And Looking at Lee is a shoe-in for third, or forth, or henceforth. Patch is a great name, but he's stuck out in post #20 closer to the 100k screaming fans.
I'll update when I read what Kerry Thomas has to say. This is the one race each year when we get his opinion. He handicaps not by speed, but by psychoanalysis. Herd dynamics. We only have this one race with 20 horses in the USA, and he tries to identify those with strong will and ability to herd the group, and weed out the mental defectives
