Stick a fork in it, The Season of DOOM is over! Now it’s time to sit back by the fire and enjoy the Frosty days ahead, or not.
Long term predictions from the CPC are showing the south to be warm and dry through the winter…..

As we well know, it only takes one deep cold intrusion to freeze everything solid, especially in S. Fl. We’ll have to keep an eye on the radar and hope no blue blobs make it too far south.

Abominable weather ahead? I guess we'll just have to Bumble along to find out!

If I had any girls I'd be broke. It's bad enough with my DIL, I spoil her rotten and if I ever had any grandkids I'd really be in deep kimchi.

I just can't get motivated to do much on the weekends until it gets light out, which takes forever at this time of year.

Ais' BreakFastCast - still dry for Juan more day and then hopefully the will move in....

Today: Mostly sunny. Areas of fog in the morning. Highs in the lower 70s. Southeast winds up to 5 mph.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy. A 20 percent chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the mid 50s. Southeast winds up to 5 mph

Good morning. Grandkids? I'm still adjusting to being a 46 year old grandfather but it's growing on me by the week. Deep kimchi is in my near future. Here are a couple of pics from yesterday of the little nugget and pooch.

    Hi Aug!

Those pics. are terrific! At least you'll be young enough to enjoy watching/helping him grow up all the way to adulthood. He's certainly a cute and happy little nugget!

Daughters are a trip. At least they are if you are the Dad. She tends to get her way with me most of the time. Not so much with her mother because her mother knows the mystery of females and their wiles being a worthy practioner herself. My girl has had me wrapped around her finger all of her life and she has never doubted that. It's a constant in her life. I have spoiled her, but I don't care. She's running my business now which enables me to do nothing so I guess she deserves it more or less. Since her mother works full time as a teacher, She has also pretty much taken over running the household too (Except for the yard work, manual labor and heavy lifting which she has generously delegated to me). Now that she's running things she treats me like I'm a little kid. I guess I deserve it because I've always felt like a little kid. She inherited her mothers high spirit, fierceness and stubborness, but she's much more driven and ambitious. With her good looks all of that makes for a potent combination.

We successfully got her on the plane to Denver. She wanted me to send her their on the Citation, but I refused. We compromised by me getting her a first class ticket. So she will now have a couple of weeks to play out there. She will also have to do some work checking up on things going on out there, but that shouldn't take to much time and my brother pretty much runs operations out there now. She'll have access to the company Yukon to tool around in. She authorized my brother to purchase his own company vehicle and he proceeded to by a brand new Camaro ZL1 which is now parked for the winter because it's no good on snow. He's never made common sense decisions as far as vehicles go, but he does go fast. Real fast.

    Cracks me up.

After dropping the girl off Mama and I participated in the unique southern cultural experience known as the Waffle House. Had a breakfast steak, bacon, 3 eggs over medium and a triple helping of hashbrowns. I love that place.

How can 80 degrees be so friggin' hot? Sweating!

I was in and out of the sun doing yardwork. The guava tree is toast from the hurricane. Now that the Banyan is totally removed and stump-ground, I can begin to put my back yard back together.

I'm doomed to never become a Grandfather (or Grandmother, for that matter) as my only son has expressed himself so that the only thing he doesn't want more than to be married, is kids. If I start over and make another offspring with my new wife, I will be ancient when it will have offspring of it's own. Back when I was younger, people didn't have to worry about old guys doting on their kids. But with so many pervs out there, if you express attention toward a child not your own, they whisk them away and call the cops. At least that is what I have heard. Now, I can adopt a kid, but not a grand-kid.
So all you with grandchildren, count your blessing. I always wanted kids and grand-kids. But I have been denied.
    I am sure if I didn't want any, I would have 10!
That's just the way it is..

    Good Morning Bunkerites!

No grandkids for me either, son and DIL aren't having any and my youngest son doesn't have a girlfriend ATM, but he doesn't want any either.

The weather is pretty quiet in the US for pre-winter, just cold rain up around the lakes and snoh out west.....

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! StAug, sooo cute!! I feel like I waited forever to have a grandchild! Oldest and third son still have me waiting. With four kids of my own I should be swimming in grandchildren. Ah well.

We have range cows around here as well, Mark. I used to take one road and say a prayer every time I passed one of the 'cow crossing' signs as it was a very wooded road and they would just walk out of the woods in front of you like a deer.

Breakfast’s on the sideboard: Eggs Benedict, bacon, thick slices of smoked honey ham, sausage casserole, smoked trout hash, seasoned home fries, pecan sticky buns, corn fritters, herbed egg potato bake, cinnamon oatmeal, skewered fresh fruit, tea or coffee, flavored creamers on the side. Enjoy!

    Morning folks.

It's currently 58 in Navarre. We had chicken broth fog a bit ago, but it has lifted and it's now just hazy out there.

    Good morning Aislinn.

At least the cows by you have a cattle crossing. I always feel bad for the cows that only have a deer crossing. Like how are they gonna cross the road.

I'll have some of the casserole, bacon, ham, trout hash, home fries, corn fritters, potato bake, fresh fruit and a pot of regular coffee please.

    Thank You very much.

    Morning Aislinn & Dr. Mark!

No cow crossings around here, just old folks on three wheelers and walkers in the crosswalks - now that's dangerous

    BreakFast!

I'll have Eggs Benedict, bacon, thick slices of smoked honey ham, sausage casserole, smoked trout hash, seasoned home fries and coffee - TYVM Aislinn & good luck getting some rain today!
  17. Aislinn's Avatar
Hey Mark! That must be why the cows with only deer crossing signs never get hit, they constantly travel in circles trying unsuccessfully to find a way across the road!

Passes large platter of sausage casserole, bacon, ham, smoked trout hash, seasoned home fries, corn fritters, herbed egg potato bake, fresh fruit and a pot of regular coffee.

    Morning folks.

We got about 2 hours of light rain and drizzle last night. It was wonderful, but the local establishment mets say that it is just the prelude to the oncoming "ARCTIC FRONT" that is coming. They say that it will get into the "THIRTIES". That is all it has taken to get the locals into a panic.

I feel like Juan of those comic relief old dudes in a movie. You know. The old dude sitting and relaxing on the bench in front of the barber shop while numerous gunfights take place in the street. The old dude watches curiously, but doesn't get excited at all. Just raises an eyebrow or two here and there while mayhem ensues.

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! The internet guys were working on the lines last night to fix our internet problem. I have to give them credit, they were working here until after 8 pm and I'd seen them out when I left for the office at about 7:30 yesterday morning. Seems the only time yesterday we had internet was when I posted breakfast. So far the rain has gone all around us, at least there's not a single drop in the rain gauge. We really do need the rain. I'm bringing layers with me. So instead of slowly talking off layers as the day gets warmer, I'll be adding them as the day gets colder. We have our Christmas Parade on Saturday night, I'm glad I'm one of the two that opted to be the required walkers next to the float, it'll be warmer walking than sitting. Off to the office early this morning!

Breakfast’s on the sideboard: Cheesy ham and hash brown casserole, orange-cinnamon rolls, brown butter crab benedict with hollandaise sauce, mini bacon quiches, spiced shrimp with mango and cilantro, grilled chicken and fruit salad, lobster frittata, French toast with caramelized apples, tea or coffee. Enjoy!

Daylight has arrived in Navarre to show mostly cloudy skies. DOOM is in the air. The locals are cringing just thinking about the "ARCTIC FRONT" that is approaching. They know the tempatures will get into the thirties and few will survive and those that do will be permanently scarred.

Or possibly nothing like that at all.
