Stick a fork in it, The Season of DOOM is over! Now it’s time to sit back by the fire and enjoy the Frosty days ahead, or not.
Long term predictions from the CPC are showing the south to be warm and dry through the winter…..

As we well know, it only takes one deep cold intrusion to freeze everything solid, especially in S. Fl. We’ll have to keep an eye on the radar and hope no blue blobs make it too far south.

Abominable weather ahead? I guess we'll just have to Bumble along to find out!

I have it set at 55 now to conserve the propane. I can sleep well in temps over 45, under my trusty sleeping bag.
But, getting up or out of bed is contraindicated.
I wouldn't even try, hibernation would be my only option.

Oh yeah, I can see that neighbor in my mind's eye and it's a scary sight. Probably belongs in this photo.....

K cubed - your neighbor sounds like my daughters boyfriend (related???). The excuses to not work and broken foot immediately come to mind. What a waste of space. He's 22 and needs a good swift kick in the arse!. But, my daughter loves him unconditionally and they have a child (I adore the little nugget). I will go no further otherwise the BP may go into overdrive.

    Hi Oss!

Really enjoyed the Bowie from last evening and I do wish Lib would stop in, it's been a really long time.

If I had to live where it was that cold I'd be seeing all kinds of crazy stuff, some of it might have actually been real

    Good Morning Bunkerites!

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! So the kittehs have discovered how to open the door and let themselves in and out of my room, much like my GSD, Luke. So I guess instead of spending the day with my son and family I will be taking down Christmas. We celebreated Christmas yesterday, so.... And there's currently a kitten in my tree....

Hope everyjuan has a safe and Happy New Year's Eve. Cone, with those temps I'll be staying inside with a fire going!

Breakfast’s on the sideboard: Cheddar cheese grits casserole, Pancakes with buttered honey syrup, Praline pull apart bread, lemon blueberry Quinoa porridge, chicken fried steak with sausage gravy, fluffy biscuits, scrambled eggs muffin sliders, grits and grillades, Beignets, fresh fruit, tea and coffee. Enjoy!

As much as I hate the amount of taxes we all pay so others can suck on the teet of government assistance, I could never be nestled up between the piglets there. 90% of them are lazy bastards or are working the system to get out of secular employment.
Not only that, but in order to qualify to be able to sponsor my bride for her citizenship, I cant be on government assistance, and I have to prove income to support so that she will not use it either.
Even in my homeless times, and when my son was suicidal and I had to be off work to keep an eye on him, all I ever used was food stamps, and then, as soon as I made enough money, I stopped using it. They were surprised when I called to cancel it with some funds left on it. They said nobody does that. They said that they cannot take the funds off and to use it till it ran out.
    So, I did.

I got a little piece of the million + I have paid in taxes my whole life.

I don't agree with what Uncle Sammy does with all the money he extorted from me, but extortion is legal when it is Uncle Sam, so.....
And there are places in the world where you can buy property and the government doesn't charge taxes on it, and wont take it from you and sell it if you don't pay. I had the hardest time explaining the tax system here to my Filipina family. They believe you have to be rich here to own property. They are not so keen to live here as they were, especially when they found out about the punishment for not paying. Pretty much they barely make enough for the basic necessities. They would never be able to carry our tax burden. In Tennessee, they charge 10% sales tax on everything sold, even food.
They asked me if the high taxes benefited the people in general. I told them that the people don't really have a say about where the money goes directly, every area has a representative that is supposed to know what the people want and he is supposed to relay their thoughts to the governments law makers etc. But, most Americans usually don't know what is going on till after a law goes into effect, and some areas, such as military and other departments, they keep their decisions and the amount of tax money spent from the general pubic. They dont want public opinion to ruin their plans, some thinking that it is better for us not to know and that since they know better what is good for us, we should just give them the money and shut up about it.

I don't think they will be wanting to live here. If Mexicans had to pay taxes, they would crossing the border, to go back to Mexico. But thanks to us, we pay our taxes so they can get free medical treatment.

    Don't get me started.....

I am not liking the abdominal weather. It feels crappy.

It’s friggin cold. Windy as heck so temperature doesn’t even begin to get to how cold it is out there. I’m hibernating. Wind chill warnings. Brrrr. And I have a bug but this too shall pass. Or I will whichever comes first. The whole state is sick.

The Gubment is terrible at $$ management and all they ever want is more.

Get better T! Don't plan on going outside for a few more days, it's just going to be as cold or colder.

Lots of hype about an upcoming storm off the NE, impacts are still up in the air, but it looks like a doozy.....

Boy I'll tell you whatever is sitting off northeast coast Thursday is going to be one hell of a storm! May be known more for wind, waves than snow. God help us if it shifts west. ECMWF deepens it to 945mb off southern tip of Nova Scotia early Friday morning. 100mph gusts poss.

Happy New Year everyjuan! Snow for me on Wednesday? Looks to be just a bit to the north but close enough to pay attention to. Even mention of possible accumulation. Unprecedented!

    From Jax:

Wednesday...Models in good agreement as mid-upper trof aloft
pushes across the Deep South and into SE GA/NE FL and this will
serve to deepen Bahamas Low pressure system and track it
northward. The phasing of these systems at the surface and aloft
will serve to enhance lift/moisture over the region. The diffs in
the models are mainly how much warm air overrides the cold airmass
already in place. The NAM/ECMWF are in agreement with a colder
scenario that would bring winter mix to inland NE FL and SE GA
with event starting as some Freezing Rain and mixing with
Rain/Sleet/Snow at times before changing back to just Rain/Snow
during the afternoon as the shortwave passes by and colder air
works in the lower levels and ends the event as all Snow in some
locations with some small accumulations possible along the I-10
    corridor of NE FL
northward through SE GA. The GFS run was much
warmer in the lower levels and somehow has enough warm air pushing
back northward to push Max Temps back into the upper 40s/lower 50s
area-wide and mostly a rainfall event. For now leaning towards the
colder solution and have kept Max temps topping out closer to 40
degrees and will likely be cooler than this as enhanced lift and
moisture falling into the colder/drier airmass with dewpoints in
the teens/20s will allow for evaporational cooling to keep temps
down with an entire mix of Rain/Mixed Pcpn over inland areas while
areas basically SE of a line from JAX to GNV through the St Johns
River Basin will likely change to all rain Wednesday while areas
across SE GA and inland North FL with North winds backing to the
N/NW through the day will keep mixed pcpn possible through the day
after starting as a period of possible freezing rain in the
morning as temps start out below freezing in many inland

Thanks Cone! As Mark would say the NAM is the cadillac of all models and it seems to bring me a wintry mix thus can be trusted.

Aislinn's temps are C-C-C-COLD. And I thought the wind chills possibly down to 15 here tomorrow morning were cold.

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! It's a whole 22 degrees and warmed up to a feels like 10. My Floridian family were freezing yesterday and at midnight last night when we stood out in the front yard to watch the fireworks. The fireworks started at about six pm, but the finale was at midnight til midnight thirty-ish. I lent them my fleece jackets. Not the warmist, but better than nothing. My daughter-in-law spent the evening in her bedroom with noise cancelling headphones on and the tv loud to try to not hear the fireworks. Severe PTSD with that kind of stuff. My oldest son was like 'as long as they keep it going, I'm fine. It's when there's suddenly silence I have a problem'.

Breakfast's on the Sideboard: slices of brown sugar-bourbon baked ham, black-eyed peas and collard greens, salmon with mango salsa, grapes, Chinese egg noodles with five spice pork, Bagels with cream cheese and lox or strawberry jam, Honey and pomegranate breakfast parfait, Apple raisin French toast casserole, Orange creamsicle mimosas, tea or coffee. Enjoy!
