As the last full month of winter rolls in the question remains – lots more frosty days ahead? Or, will severe season get an early start? The early bets look to be on more visits from the old man of the north.

After everyone thaws out a bit we’ll be on to severe season and the CPC thinks there will be some moistcha’ available…..

http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/product...off01_prcp.gif

Time to watch the radar for frozen white invaders or AOD’s – pick your poison

Here in the bunker, we know where to go for any extreme weather event - To the nearest Bunker Bar

**** IMPORTANT NOTE **** The Bunker hosting runs out at the end of this month and provisions will need to be made if we are to extend our run of insanity.

Good morning Cone. I am hoping it starts warming up today and the wind dies down. I'm fighting a head cold and the wind was miserable.

    Morning HCat!

No wind and a balmy 65 degrees here, should be a good day for recovery, get better and avoid the flu!

    Ais' BreakFastCAst - Incoming showers?

Today: Mostly cloudy. Patchy fog in the morning. A 40 percent chance of showers in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 60s. South winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Colder. Mostly cloudy. Chance of showers in the evening, then slight chance of showers after midnight. Lows in the lower 40s. Northwest winds up to 10 mph shifting to the north after midnight. Chance of showers 50 percent.

My NC trip started out with icy snowy roads in the mountains and then about 3" of snow in Boone.
    And cold...
My Tahoe looks like a Mexican wedding cookie, except powdered salt instead of powdered sugar.
I am finished with winter. It has not been nice to me this year, mainly because I have had to work out in it a lot this year.
I hope Dr Mark survived another Daytona (Daytoner for Brits and New Yorkers)

Apparently every Juan is busy, myself included, and Lib and T and others. It is getting more difficult to make and collect a buck these days.
I didn't watch the SOU address, I was unloading a truck till 11PM in the cold with fork lifts that kept getting stuck.

But, this blew nog is a sign that time is indeed marching on and soon, the Season will be upon us like, like, you know, one of things it is like that is on something else..
    _______________ on a cupcake.
    __________ on rice.
    __________ on poo.
    __________ on a banana.

Or make up your own. Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

I must press on. I have work to do and a plane to catch in 5 days, where I will be headed toward the South Pacific tropics, by way of Guangzhou China and LAX. I will be there about 4 weeks and will check in as time and circumstances allow.

    Work is calling (literally) so...
    I must be off...

Don't work too hard, Triple K. It sets a bad precedent...

As the 2nd cat in the room, I may just curl up in the corner by the heat vent for a while. Of course, at some point I will run out of the room at high speed making you wonder what caused my hasty exit.

When you peek around the corner, I'll just be licking a paw...

Today it will be spring for one afternoon before winter returns tomorrow.

How's it going Cone? Sounds like y'alls weather is primo.

Go get 'em TripleK! You'll be warm soon enough

    Hi LC!

Mid Feb. thru mid March is the best time of year here(weather wise) IMHO, sun is usually shining, the humidity and temps. are low to moderate, and there are spring training games to attend

I could do with a few thousand less snew fowl, they clog up everything.

Thanks for the shiny new blog. Currently 37 here but FROPA is barreling at us again. Going down to 6 degrees tonight.
  8. blakels's Avatar
Still waiting for FROPA. 38 here but 18 in Muskegon on the West side of the state.
  9. InTheCone's Avatar
    Afternoon Blakels!

No FROPA's here for a few days - 75 and partly cloudy here ATM.

When I was in about 2nd grade, I had this cat that was fluffy white but had Siamese markings. We got her from the "pound." I named her Fluffy--for obvious reasons.

She survived distemper--I remember my Mom wrapping this cat up in a towel and carrying her everywhere and feeding her and giving her Kaopectate.

Anyway, she was beautiful but evil, as all cats that even resemble a Siamese, are. She would hide under furniture and leap out, and surround your ankle and tear into it. She would sit on the bannister and wait for the dog to come down the stairs and pounce on him. If you were stroking her, even tho she was purring, she would all of a sudden either bite you or swat you with her claws out.

Moral of the story--if you even suspect a cat could have a pinch of Siamese in it--watch out!!!

hurricat ... that sounds about right

I’ve never seen CRJ and Podunk in the same room. I did see a Chart posting on Twitter tho with a shout out to the Bunker and Shelbyville.

As for Podunk and CRJ, I don't recall CRJ having a goat fetish, but then again it wouldn't surprise me

    Good Morning Bunkerites!

The Goofonians have backed off on any freezes for the deep south next week, but still show an Icee blast fro the week after - probably won't happen and it's probably the last Juan for the year even if it does happen.....

    Ais' BreakFastCast - Cooldown time....

Today: Cooler. Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 50s. Northeast winds 5 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Partly cloudy in the evening then becoming mostly cloudy. Lows in the mid 30s. East winds 5 to 10 mph.

    Interesting, but cold....

06Z GEFS splits the #polarvortex in half by day 8 and looks really impressive by day 10. Super cool process going on here. Research says the MJO phase 7 increases the likelihood of this happening. #natgas #AGwx

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! Sooo warm yesterday morning and back to needing a coat at feels like 34 this morning. LC, you've just had the wrong Siamese mix cats. Mine have all been the most loving of all. Sierra was my only exception to that, but she only attacked people to keep them away from me. And my Ex when she got mad at him. I just realized I've had Siamese mixes for forty years! OUCH! I know I can't be that old!

I have found I have the strangest Bengal kitten of all in Kia. She is the newest addition from the 'for free, please take them all' collection whereby I was made to feel guilty and took one extra. She is extremely affectionate and not at all 'standoff-ish' like most Bengals who only want attention when they want it, which comes and goes.

So Phil said six more weeks of winter. We need our own spring/winter forecaster! We need Bunker, Bart! He needs to give us the BunkerCast for if it's six more weeks of winter or not. I'd voluntell Tulsa's Bengals, but like mine, they don't go outside.

Breakfast’s on the sideboard: Chicken fried steak, hash browns, biscuits and gravy, sweet potato pancakes with syrup, ham and cheese breakfast pockets, fried or scrambled eggs with turkey sausage and/or thick slices of honey ham, crispy homefries, waffles with syrup, banana bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, tea or coffee, flavored creamers to the side. Enjoy!

    P's take on Groundhog day

The pariah commeth, giveth, and taketh away..Remarkable how over the next 45 days every drop of rain, flake of snow, and puff of wind will be attributed to this rodent's proclamation one way or another. You're all insane..I hear these make good Gumbo though.

Ais, That's a good idea. A "Bunker-Cast™" could be handy, and potentially entertaining. He did apply for his own account as soon as he got here. But.... alas, we all await the great (and often missing) Dewey.

Say Bunker, Bunker. Here boy, C'mere. Ais wants to know about 6 more weeks of winter.

"Ar, Wooof woof. Aroooooff, woof." (Translation: I don't care about that groundhog. The cat's eating my food again! Ooooh look! Squirrel! )

As a side note: Bunker is now up to 58.7 lbs. The vets assistants have removed his "Cutest" title and replaced it with "Most Hansom".

    Hiya Cone (and all)!

Thanks for the new blog. I saw the note about the end of the month. I'm not much of an IT guy, but I stand ready to assist if there's anything useful I can do. Please advise....

Weather here is cold, followed by more cold, with some occasional wet and colder.

Mardi-Grass goes into full swing soon. It is early this year. (sigh) We have stocked in sufficient supplies, and should survive through at least the initial waves of revelry, human debris, and stupidity.

LOL! Yes! If he has time for the Twits, he has time to duck his head into the Bunker!

I follow Levi and when I saw a response with the Chart™ with Homer, I knew we had a match. (Not to mention the shout out he gave to the Bunker.)

It is severe clear here. S'pose to be next level cold at the OBX tomorrow where I shall try to traverse 50 miles without dying. At 6am race start, temp predicted to be 24 with a north wind of 16. At least the wind is blowing me down the course...
