June/July: The Beginning of the End?

At least it is for me, for the blog, that will have to be determined by others. I decided during the offseason that I was burned out on being the blog host to what is an increasingly diminished membership. No offense to the wonderful folks who remain, but having two posters in a 24 hr. period is just not worth the effort or the money. If someJuan else would like to take over the duties that would be great, and I would still like to participate, but not as the proprietor. Maybe you all can come up with a solution to our woes, and I will applaud your efforts if you should like to try.

Until that time, on with the show!
It’s early – too early for any biggies(we hope), but we might get some more flusher type systems before the big boys start forming up.

The tropical wave train will get going in earnest and the ITCZ will begin it’s northward migration.

The early season SST anomalies are providing some clues about the seasons and so far the MDR is quite chilly, but the western GOM is ready, willing, and able.

So, sit back, pop an option #2 beverage and for at least the next 6 mos……

It indeed was very humid. I went to the back porch to escape a bit today, but the friggin pool was at about 91 and just made it unbearable out there. I then succumb to #2 protocol in the AC after a bit more yard work. It could be worser. The NE is gonna need heavy jackets for a couple days. I always rather sweat than shiver. Just sayin.....

Both starters did well in that game, yours just made that Juan mistake in the first, otherwise he didn't give up any more runs. Bucs and Cards are done until August.
I hate the heat plus U-midity of summer, but I'd say it's gotten' better down here since climate change, or maybe it's since I started taking warfarin. There's no co-relation so I'll continue continuing on and consume option #2 as needed.
    .
Cone, you've gone over and beyond the beyond. Thank you. You deserve a cone with sprinkles on top if you'd like(not that there's anything wrong with that). I agree with the majority that we need new blood, the old warfarin blood is great but too thin.
We need to get through to Dewey to tend to or pass the torch he created.

    .
Thanks much Oss. I had read that story a few days ago, heard about it from one of my horsey friends. Appreciate you thinking of me. Absolutely fascinating story. That guy knew his horses better than I to say the least. The probability that we wagered on the same horse are nil as a few of mine are still shy of the finish line.

Thanks Cos & Yeah, some new peeps would be welcome. Speaking of welcome, if the Goofonians could just get it right, then BarKeep might get his lawn watered......

Hello - good morning all! Back in town this week and focused on the upgrades requested. Focus is on moving to VBulletin 5 latest, Distributing mod privileges and reopening the membership doors.

Thank you all for your patience. I know it's certainly not nearly fast enough.

    Good Morning Dewey!

Welcome Back & so good to see you and hear all those wonderful things to be done - TY

I have covered the hosting for the next 3 months(I figure you have seen the e-mail that it has been paid), but the rest of the folks would like to kick in to keep the doors open when you need to pay for anything.

Again - wonderful to see you!

    First of all:

Second: Many have expressed the desire to contribute toward the worthy cause. I know how much you hate to have money thrown at you, but I hope you can stifle the urge to turn away from it long enough to set something up for those who feel the need to contribute more than words here.

Third: I hope life is treating you well.

Fourth: I couldn't remember the fourth because I couldn't concentrate while thinking about:

    The Fifth: Of Whiskey.

I haven't been able to comment until now but I want to add my thanks to Cone for helping maintain this home for wayward weather watchers (and option #2 practice).

It is great to see Dewey in da' house and hope improvements come soon - some fresh meat, er, I mean new members, (that still doesn't sound right, sorry BCL) would be most welcome.

I would be happy to contribute monetarily and as a moderator, if need be.

I have watched a couple videos of the pyroclastic flow coming down and it looked terrifying.

    Good Morning Bunkerites!

No real BOOM and DOOM going on in the US this morning and no 'Canoes either - thank goodness. Those things can just ruin your whole decade, if you manage to get away.

Good morning Cone! The forecats here is severe clear... no 'canes, 'nados, or 'canoes.

The lows tonight here will be unprecedented... 62. It has never happened. Ever.

I wonder if Da Gal is getting some boomers this morning.

i'm in the DC area and am loving the cooler temps without liquid.

I hope every Juan is as well as can be expected, considering the earth is falling apart and leaking.
