June/July: The Beginning of the End?

At least it is for me, for the blog, that will have to be determined by others. I decided during the offseason that I was burned out on being the blog host to what is an increasingly diminished membership. No offense to the wonderful folks who remain, but having two posters in a 24 hr. period is just not worth the effort or the money. If someJuan else would like to take over the duties that would be great, and I would still like to participate, but not as the proprietor. Maybe you all can come up with a solution to our woes, and I will applaud your efforts if you should like to try.

Until that time, on with the show!
It’s early – too early for any biggies(we hope), but we might get some more flusher type systems before the big boys start forming up.

The tropical wave train will get going in earnest and the ITCZ will begin it’s northward migration.

The early season SST anomalies are providing some clues about the seasons and so far the MDR is quite chilly, but the western GOM is ready, willing, and able.

So, sit back, pop an option #2 beverage and for at least the next 6 mos……

Good morning everyjuan. Beautiful weather here this week. Looks pretty soggy up by the Yoop though

    Morning Dr. Mark & Blakels!

    Weather's always bad in YooperLand

    From P - Incoming!

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! Loving the forecast, thanks, Cone! We've been having mid day thunderstorms which I love. Still get to do morning classes and it's over by afternoon classes.

Breakfast’s on the sideboard: Duck Eggs Benedict, thick slices of smoked honey ham and/or smoked trout hash, Sausage, egg, cheese casserole, , seasoned home fries, pecan sticky buns, corn fritters, herbed egg potato bake, cinnamon oatmeal, skewered fresh fruit, tea or coffee, flavored creamers on the side. Enjoy!

    Morning Aislinn!

We're stuck in the summer slow down here, most of the rain stays inland, but the heat and eewwwmidity are ever present.

    Breakfast Time!

I'll have Duck Eggs Benedict, thick slices of smoked honey ham and smoked trout hash, Sausage, egg, cheese casserole, , seasoned home fries, and coffee - TYVM and good luck with your classes!

Hey Cone! I skipped morning class today, had to do some things first. I know what you mean, there's hot and then there's _hot and sticky hot_

Passes extra large plate with Duck Eggs Benedict, thick slices of smoked honey ham and smoked trout hash, Sausage, egg, cheese casserole, , seasoned home fries, and a pot of coffee.

It's supposed to be mostly sunny here, with a high of 89 that will feel like 98. No rain four cats. Yay.

I have to paint a Honda Civic trunk lid today, and for 10 minutes of spraying there is 10 hours of prep. I already got it half done.
I will be using PPG acrylic enamel with a hardener. I used to paint cars all the time, but I didn't have a place or reason to paint a car for a long time. My son returned the EX coupe to me that I bought which has a silver trunk lid whereas the rest of the body is a dark green metallic, so....

Other than that my goofing off work will have to end soon.
I hope every Juan (and Juanita) is enjoying the mid summer weather and the particular part of your life you are living. Just remember, has a way of sneaking up on you. Don't be caught with your "pants down,"

    Howdy Triple K!

I don't think the paint would adhere to anything down here today, to much heat and eewwwmidity

Beryling Beryl may make a quickie comeback......

HIGHLY specific question for anyjuan who knows about lightningmaps.org...

When you zoom in on a lightning strike, there's a date stamp, a time stamp, and below that is

    S: xx/xx where the x's represent numbers. Examples are 11/22 and 20/53...

If anyjuan can solve that scooby DOO MYSTERY, (damn caps lock) I would be super stoked.
Updated 07-12-2018 at 11:35 PM by LaughingCat (The mystery of what those numbers mean. My best guess was it was a station identifier but...)

I am not seeing that on mobile LC. I will check on a PC next time, but don't remember that item. I suspect you are on target with triangulation, but that usually means at least 3 points.

I’m glad to see I’m not the only insomniac in this joint. Hi Oss, it’s almost time for Cone to get up too. Good morning all.

Just a spattering of scattered showers off shore at this moment. Will most likely intensify this afternoon.

    Good Morning Bunkerites!

Oh yes, I was up, just forgot to hit the post button and then went for my ride - these things happen from time to time

It's triangulation alright - for the little green men's landing points - Incoming! That's my tin foil hat explanation and I'm sticking to it

As for tropical weather - there isn't going to be much of nothing coming out of the MDR with old uncle SAL behaving like this.....

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! I was up at four-thirty, but refused to get out of bed. At five-thirty I gave up and got up. We're still enjoying those middle of the day quick storms, though more hit or miss now. We sat at the office and watched it pour down at the corner and not a drop where we sat.

Breakfast’s on the sideboard: Scrambled eggs with cheese, red and green peppers and diced ham, bacon wrapped sausage links, sausage, egg and cheese wraps, eggs benedict, oversized glazed cinnamon rolls, country sausage gravy over biscuits, shrimp and grits, sweet potato pancakes with butter and syrup and whipped cream, fresh fruit, tea or coffee. Enjoy!

    Morning Aislinn!

Not even hit or miss storms here right now - dry times for the near term.

    BreakFast!

I'll have some Scrambled eggs with cheese, red and green peppers and diced ham, bacon wrapped sausage links, sausage, egg and cheese wraps, eggs benedict, country sausage gravy over biscuits, and coffee - TYVM and have a great day!

Hey Cone, hope you do get some rain. Always helps with the lawn! Of course, if you have a hay field masquerading as a lawn all this rain very quickly gives it away.

Passes Cone a large plate of Scrambled eggs with cheese, red and green peppers and diced ham, bacon wrapped sausage links, sausage, egg and cheese wraps, eggs benedict, country sausage gravy over biscuits, and a pot of coffee.

I've been showing those Gerry Brooks clips to a teacher friend of mine who isn't so tech savvy and she just loves them - thanks to LF for bringing them on here

    Ruh-Roh.......

Sea surface temps across the Main Development Region (MDR) continue to warm. In fact, as a whole it measures only -0.156 C below average with continued warming likely. In May, the region as a whole was near -1C below average. Incredible rate of warming in the last 2 weeks.

Reminds me of a guy on TV back in the day...Meltin' Beryl.

    In other news...

It's still sunny hot in the Volunteer state and the goofing off continues..

I am glad to see the blog still active even though the season is somewhat lethargic. Still, '04 was a busy season and Charley didn't arrive on the scene till mid August. On the other hand the "experts" have called for a slow season.

    Well, there's always WesPac....

(Don't tell Mark I said that, he has WesPac on ignore)

One of these guys is Milton Berle....
