August – The New May?

It’s the meat of the season and many pundits point to a quiet year. The MDR is cooler than last year but still has enough warmth to support some development, and the water is plenty warm enough near the US coast.

The NHC map could stay quiet for a lot of this month, but we shall have to watch it anyway……

There’s a long way to go and the peak is still over a month away – never ignore “The Chart”!

So, on we go - will there be….

….. or…..

I'm all in for the later, rather than the former - we shall have to wait and see what happens!

    Morning HCat!

I'm rereading P's blog about Irma, so I'm fine with that little seagull fart being of no account.

I have a bad feeling about that one. It looks like a populated area.

I see that the Euro has dropped its ghostie in the latest run. The Goofy doesn't have anything either.

    It's Sunday!! Hiya all!

Yes, we're all bored (nearly overboard) with the Atl season so far. But look on the bright side. We all have some things to look forward to now.

    Sunday Bunker-Marys and FOOTBALL SEASON!

    Mornin', Y'all!

We had a few fly-by showers earlier--just enough to muck-up the weed-spraying plan.

Just as well, I have a paperwork-fest to attend to today. anyway.

Just checking in. Nothing to report.

    August: The New May,
    or the New may not.

    We shall see.

I like your attitude Bart. Make something good.

I have always questioned the saying: " When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.."

It is a flawed reasoning. Life never gives lemons. Lemons are good. But to make lemonade, you need sugar and water. So that saying is assuming that you already have sugar. But what if your life is missing some sugar? In any case, the important word in the saying is "make." It's an action word.
The new saying is "When life gives you lemons, open a lemonade stand, do the market research, go online and open a dot com, optimize for search engines, open a pay online account linked to your bank, utilize cost effective methods to minimize raw material use while maximizing profit, or just sell the lemons directly to a grocery chain."

    Life gives me stuff too.

    I make fertilizer with it.

That's the thought for the day from KX3

Well, I have survived a gruling day here at SRQ. The day started, err, ended, whatever at about 2 am when the Wii bowling tourney finally finished on the back porch projector. Fun stuff, but I lost the title to another neighbor down the road who was a first timer of the 20 that were here. I am quite certain he was a ringer, but it doesn't matter at this poiint. The gruling part came at the wake up call from those who I promised to help over the last week with technology repairs. They showed up today with their parts. Soooo, being a bit fuzzy this am, it started. Power ports on a Samsung, no problem. Screens on 2 Apple products, PITA. Small screws of varying types are defintitely a PITA. They even added a new Y (tri) point screw in the new ones. Did I mention Trillion dollar Apple sucks? I would have been done in 15 minutes with another brand of phone, but noooo, they want one click Apple who controls everything they do (and they don't even know it). Anyhow, things went well with the right tools and working my way through the Apple nightmare of control and profit driven products and services. Did I mention Apple Sucks?

Ok, sorry for the rant. SRQ out.....

BTW, the Iphone 5s repair was $32, and the 7 was $44 for the parts instead of $1,000 for a new phone from the thieves. Labor was free
Updated 08-06-2018 at 02:57 AM by Ossqss (My applologies to those Apple users. Try and leave, you will understand the hooks in you better with that companies products.)

    Good Morning Bunkerites!

I am NOT a fan of Apple products either. My son tried to switch to using an Apple phone so he could hook it up to his car, but he absolutely hated it and went back a Android phone. He used to do those repairs for people, but has gotten away from it in recent years. Too much effort for to little return.

Nothing much going on in the weather ATM - must be getting to the dog days of summer....

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! I think I am now done with all my trips until February time frame. The trip to Mclean was great fun with the exception of one incident, well, a couple of irritating things with hotels, but over all fun, the conference was very good and the trip home was fun as well. We did a ton of sightseeing. Luke became quite the time traveler over the two weeks we were going there and coming back. Got home and unpacked and repacked to head back up to Barksdale AFB.

Luke coming over to Jamestown on the Susan Constant in 1607. He went up the narrow gangplank perfectly, then I realized you're at the rail and have to climb down narrow steps to actually get on board ship. I told him to wait, as everyjuan watched us, and he did, then I told him with me and he gracefully jumped down. I declined going into the Hold as it was fifteen feet down very steep narrow steps. I had visions of us getting down there and having to move in as he wouldn't come back up them. But he had no problems so then we went onto the Discovery which is the smallest and was really rocking in the water. Again he did great.

Thanks LF and LC. I'll check them out. I was looking for one that puts the picture in, rather than gives a link. I know some people don't like to have to click on a link. I'll be posting pictures of his time traveling each day. He has time traveled from Jamestown up through the civil war.

Passes LF a plate with a large piece of BLT Egg Bake.

Good morning, afternoon and evening, everyjuan! A very busy morning here already. I had my pig butchered this past weekend, no he didn't live here, I wouldn't have been able to do it them. LOL But he dressed out at 130 pounds and will cost me 180 dollars. Much cheaper than the supermarket and it's all fresh.

Luke helped with guarding Jamestown while there.

Hmmmm....storm just blew up. Sitting here with kittehs and my new 6 week old puppy watching the trees bend over. If I need to get them to the cellar someone tell me! It may take a while. Changing to local news.

    It’s gone suddenly calm.

I have a bad feeling about this.

I'm glad Debby is out to sea but there could have been some good jokes depending on her path. BCL would have been on high alert.
