Tropics Remain Globally Quiet

The southwest Pacific basin & the south Indian basin are both quiet, with no signs of development anywhere in the basins. No areas are highlighted as an area of investigation, and the models are in good agreement that it will stay like this for the next 8 days at least. The ECMWF, NOGAPS and GFS all forecast no development, nor any signs of development for the next 8+ days. I personally believe that the tropics in these regions are shutting down, as the end of the cyclone season for the southwest Pacific and south Indian is approaching quickly. We may have seen the last surge for tropical activity associated with Tropical Cyclone Daphne, which formed March 31st and has long been dissipated.

With the tropics quiet and nothing going on in a pretty much global scale, I may not have another full sized blog for a week or more. Now, if the tropics have something else to say about that and there is a disturbance to mention, my next post will be in about 3 days or so. After May 15th of this year I will begin blogging on the eastern and western Pacific basins.

That is it for today, thanks all for stopping in and I hope you have a blessed week ahead of you!

Yes quiet is very good Navarre! Gives good conditions for Madagascar to rebuild in after Funso and Giovanna. Thanks for kind remarks. : )
